Webby Awards Commend Inherent Webbiness

The International Academy of the Digital Arts and Sciences announced their voluminous list of winners for this year’s Webby Awards, to be doled out June 12 in New York.

Myspace.com founders, Thomas Friedman, Mark Cuban, Gorillaz (left), and Dr. Robert Kahn will be given special achievement awards, along with nominees in 69 categories. For each category, a winner and People’s Voice Award recipient were chosen.

On the art and design beat, MoMA’s Contemporary Voices topped the art category, where the Tate’s curate-your-own museum was also a finalist, Bebop Jeans topped motion graphics and animation, Leo Burnett’s site snagged best visual aesthetic, and SVA’s website shines in school.
