WaPo Outlook Editor Carlos Lozada's New Role
The Washington Post Outlook editor Carlos Lozada has been named the outlet’s new nonfiction book critic. In this role, he’ll pen weekly reviews of nonfiction books and long-form writing. The same announcement noted that The Post will also launch a new blog to focus on nonfiction content.
Lozada joined The Post in 2005 and served as both an economics and national security editor before being named editor of the paper’s Sunday Outlook section five years ago. Prior to WaPo, he was managing editor of Foreign Policy.
“From his perch in Outlook, Carlos has already established himself as a fresh voice in Post criticism, writing everything from essays on book-title trends (‘The end of everything’) to reviews of high-profile books on politics, foreign policy, economics and culture, such as Mark Leibovich’s ‘This Town,’ or William Deresiewicz’s ‘Excellent Sheep,’ ” said executive editor Martin Baron and managing editor Kevin Merida in an announcement.
