Village Voice Receives Two Alt. Weekly Award Noms; L.A. Weekly 6
The finalists for the 2006 Alternative Weekly Awards are out, and our Village Voice was largely overlooked, receiving a mere two nominations — one for best Web site, the other for media criticism/reporting, pitting Sydney Schanberg‘s “Press Clips” against Nikki Finke‘s “Deadline Hollywood” column in the L.A. Weekly, which leads all finalists with six nominations.
Our old alma-mater, Burlington, Vermont’s Seven Days, received five.
The awards will be presented at the 29th annual Association of Alternative Newsweeklies convention,
