UK, US Considering Lunar Cell Phone Network?

A Telecoms.com post titled “In space, no one can hear your ringtone” reports that the British National Space Centre (BNSC) and NASA are considering a lunar cell phone network as part of future cooperative space exploration.

The joint space agency report outlines a proposed mission that would have a satellite enter the moon’s orbit and “release three or four small missile-like vehicles, known as ‘penetrators,’ which would impact at high speed and embed instruments just under the moon’s surface,” the article says.
