True/Slant to Close Shop in July

When the blogging site True/Slant was bought by Forbes Media earlier this year, the creator Lewis Dvorkin moved to new parent company in order to reinvent Forbes magazine and website. While Dvorkin’s changes have already begun to impact the top level of Forbes‘ editorial staff, there hasn’t been much talk regarding True/Slant.

Well, it’s ending its run, and it looks like, at least some of the bloggers will move to Forbes. As reported by our sister site FishbowlNY, a few of True/Slant bloggers have written fond farewells to their readers. One, Neal Ungerleider, wrote that the site “is winding down operations at the end of July.”
But where will they go? Now it’s tough to tell from Laurie Essig’s post, but it looks like some will be joining their boss at Forbes. “It looks like I’ll be blogging elsewhere come September — but since no contracts are signed, I can’t really tell you where (hint: it rhymes with Morbes).”
