What single person played the biggest role / had the biggest influence on your journalism career? Two people come to mind: Marilyn Serafini of National Journal, one of the kindest, most sincere and talented people I’ve known in Washington. And Chad Pergram, Fox News, a good friend and young Jedi master of Capitol Hill reporting.

When’s the last time you volunteered? Where? DC Capital Area Food Bank. It’s been a while.

Who is your favorite active journalist? Probably Seymour Hersh for print reporting; Maureen Dowd and George Will opinion. Radio: NPR’s Wade Goodwyn.

What did you have for breakfast? A couple of NutriGrain things and rocket fuel-strength coffee.

What one toiletry item could you not live without? My suction cup monkey toothbrush holder.

If you could have one superpower, which one would it be? Laser eyes.
