Times, Daily News Take Home AP Sports Editors Awards

The Associated Press Sports Editors association has announced the winners of its 2010 sports writing contest.

Among hometown publications, The New York Times took home first place in the “Breaking News” and “Project Reporting” categories and made finalist or honorable mentions in “Investigative Reporting” and “Game Stories.” The New York Daily News got finalist or honorable mention nods in “Investigative Reporting,” “Feature Stories” and “Project Reporting.”

Yahoo! Sports also finished quite strong, with six APSE nods.
