The week in alternative weeklies

– The LA Weekly is now bound together and no longer falls apart in your (okay, my) lap while you’re (okay, I’m) checking the classifieds for a legitimate masseuse. Also, if I’m not mistaken, they’ve started using a higher grade of paper, which smudges less. Damn those New Times fascists for buying Village Voice Media and muzzling the voice of alternative media making its publications easier to read.

– Okay, am I the only person creeped out by the Jewish Journal Singles column this week about the scents of different women? Feh. To me, all women smell like kreplach. (In a good way.)

– According to LA Citybeat, biodiesel fuel is all the rage now in Silver Lake. Can a biodiesel-specific trucker hat fad be far behind?
