The 'I Have Another Offer' Bluff

There’s one thing you should know about the “I have another offer on the table” bluff: It only works once.
This seems like common sense. Plus, yes, you should try to negotiate salary, etc, and you should be able to request that a prospective employer stop stringing you along and hurry it up, but in this economic climate, it also pays to be cautious.
But if you do want to try this tactic and you have no other offer on the table I don’t know what you’re thinking.
