The Deal With Continuous News Desk

There definitely seems to be some confusion about the fate of the Washington Post’s continuous news desk, that grab bag of editors and assistants who oversee the process of putting Post content on the Web, and the handful of veteran newsroom types who write up early versions of stories for the Web.

At Thursday’s meeting, Len Downie gave the impression that the continuous news desk is not being disbanded per se. Lexie Verdon, Rajiv Chandrasekaran’s deputy, will take over continuous news, but, there was also talk of each section having its own continuous-news editors….
