Shut up, No You Shut Up

Republican Chairman Michael Steele’s now infamous “Shut up!” line to his GOP critics is causing a funny wave of reaction amongst D.C.’s media. On MSNBC’s “The New York Times Edition” with Norah O’Donnell and NYT’s John Harwood this afternoon, the correspondents couldn’t stop laughing at the line. O’Donnell explained that she was never allowed to say that phrase while growing up.

“Shut up!” she joked to Harwood.
“No, you shut up,” he replied.

Steele told ABC News Radio on Thursday: They should “get a life.
