Seattle Times Producer Talks Twitter, Real-Time Reporting

Last year when four police officers were shot and killed at a Tacoma, Washington coffee shop, the Seattle Times jumped onto the story. It used its website and other online tools to track the events unfolding, providing updates during the manhunt and through the killing of the suspected murderer, Maurice Clemmons. The news organization won a Pulitzer for the reporting.

Poynter interviewed a producer at the website, Tiffany Campbell, and she provides some advice for other newsrooms, looking to implement video and Twitter in an effort to enhance reporting.
