Hollywood Mourns the Passing of Sean Whitesell

Husband of KTTV weather anchor Maria Quiban valiantly fought against inoperable brain cancer.

For a year and a half, Sean Whitesell fought valiantly against Glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer. His brother, Patrick, is co-CEO of William Morris Endeavor; his wife, Maria Quiban, is a weather anchor with L.A. FOX affiliate KTTV.

On Wednesday, via social media, Quiban shared the sad news of her husband’s death:

Dear Friends,

I wanted to let you all know that my husband and best friend passed away at 2:42 a.m. this past Monday, while holding my hand. It was peaceful.

I hope you understand that I think it will be a while before I can bring myself to share much more in the coming days and weeks. While our hearts are broken now, I know we will be OK later. Our son and I are surrounded by our loving family and we are truly grateful for their constant love as well as the care they are giving us. Especially by our new guardian angel, Sean…

As a TV producer, Whitesell’s long list of credits included The Killing, House M.D., Cold Case and Oz. With Quiban, he was father to a son and stepson.
