Saatchi and Saatchi and No More Dr. Martens

AdRants reported late yesterday that a series of ads we found not just tasteless, but tacky, those ones for Dr. Martens featuring dead rockstars still wearing their favorite pairs of the brands’ shoes up in heaven, have gotten the agency who made them, Saatchi and Saatchi London, fired from the account. Depending on who you talk to, says the article, they were either supposed to run just once or never at all. We’re glad someone is taking some heat, whoever is to blame, because while all resurrected-celebrities-hocking-products advertising is beyond terrible, this transcends even that because it just seemed lazy and poorly constructed.
