Revolving Door: Kathy Halbreich Leaves the Walker Art Center

Big news in the museum world this week, as it was announced that Kathy Halbreich, the Director of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, has resigned after sixteen years there and will be hitting the road come November 1st. Lots of info in the press release to read over about her history and what the plans are to replace her. Seems like she just figured it was time to move on. Here’s a bit from her statement:

“The Board provided me with a three-month sabbatical, which not only allowed me to reflect and recharge, but also gave me time to begin to imagine what lies ahead,” Halbreich said.
