Ready For The Temp Revolution?

The world of temp work is changing radically, and the way the economy’s going, you may find yourself in a temp job sooner rather than later.

According to a recent study reported on by Workforce, 73 percent of employers will increase their contingent (temp and contract) staff by 2010; 35 percent will grow their contingent staff by 50 percent or more.

In fact, labor law firm Littler Mendelson predicts that 30 to 50 percent of the jobs created during the recovery will be contingent.

Social networking is making it less difficult to be a temp worker: “Before Facebook and MySpace, lack of community was a central problem,” Garry Mathiason, vice chairman of Littler Mendelson in San Francisco, told Workforce.”Your
