RD Recap: Layoffs at Wenner Media; New Hires at The Week

Revolving DoorWenner Media lays off a host of staffers, including Rolling Stone senior writer David Fricke, although he’ll continue to contribute to the mag. Also gone are Us Weekly’s fashion director Sasha Morrison, executive projects director Albert Lee and senior writer Kevin O’Leary. The moves are part of a larger cost-cutting effort that will see about a 10 percent reduction in payroll. The Associated Press promotes chief Pakistan photographer Muhammed Muheisen to chief photographer for the Middle East, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
