Quick & Simple Magazine’s New Product Awards

This morning at Hearst Tower Quick & Simple magazine announced their New Product Awards winners. In addition to EIC Susan Toepfer and Publisher Bernadette Haley, Mrs. Don Imus and Today Show regular Joy Bauer were in attendance. Dierde Imus received the special ”Green” award for her work in evangelizing eco-friendly lifestyles. The Hearst Tower, located in midtown, is Manhattan’s first one-hundred percent green building.

The criteria of the awards, chosen by Quick & Simple editors, were: ease of use, affordability and innovation. Sarah J. Parker’s Bitten collection was another recipient in the New Product Awards. Editor Susan Toepfer, lauding the Sex and The City star for never ”forgetting her roots,” drew applause when announcing that her entire outfit was from the affordable Bitten line, costing a grand total of $63.84.

From the podium, Editor Susan Toepfer called the magazine, tongue-in-cheek, ”the cheap and cheerful magazine.” Quick & Simple, which has 2.6 million weekly readers, has been running the Best New Products Awards for the past two years, roughly as long as the Hearst title has been in existence.

The January 29, 2008 awards issue goes on sale at newsstands January 15th.
