Neel Kashkari in the thick of Washington
A Hollywood agent has called WaPo‘s Laura Blumenfeld and her “$700 Billion Dollar Man” might be optioned for a film.
In December 2009, Blumenfeld wrote a lengthy feature on former Treasury Department official Neel Kashkari. In 2006, Kashkari helped create the TARP program and then, through a “freakish” set of circumstances, was appointed to be Treasury Sec. Hank Paulson’s federal bailout chief. After seven months, he resigned and fled Washington for a Northern Cali cabin in the woods.
