Playoff Football Outscores Rockin’ Eve for Ratings Supremacy

The first rating survey of 2013 continues to highlight the popularity of the NFL. No Jets or Giants in the playoffs, but the Wild Card action still won the week. The Fox playoff post-game show settled for number six (1.1 million/5.7).

NBC’s Wild Card nightcap, the Week 17 rematch between Green Bay and Minnesota, took second place with 1.4 million viewers and a 7.3 rating. NBC’s studio portion bridging the playoff double header tied for fourth (1.3 million/6.8).

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve ’13 with Ryan Seacrest had a strong showing at number three. Seacrest’s first year as complete host of the holiday tradition netted 1.3 million WABC viewers and a 7.0.

A special two-hour retrospective of Clark was 11th for the week (833,000/4.2).
