At the Millennium Building on Thursday night, Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garçon hosted his third annual all-white clothing charity event, benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW).

The event, which helped raise $106,000 for the charitable organization, is something Garçon says he looks forward to every year. We asked the wide receiver and host what sparked his interest in the Boys and Girls Club charity.

“The Boys and Girls Club is an amazing organization,” Garçon told FishbowlDC. “A few years ago, they were in trouble of closing their doors, so the opportunity presented itself and I thought I could help out. It came out bigger than we all expected. It was definitely a blessing on both sides.”

But why an all-white party?

“People put some effort into dressing up,” said Garçon. “It’s something different.”

The guest list read like a Redskins fan’s dream come true, with both past and present Redskins joining in the philanthropic spirit, including quarterback Robert Griffin III, offensive tackle Trent Williams, defensive end Jason Hatcher, kicker Kai Forbath, tight end Niles Paul, quarterback Kirk Cousins and former Redskin quarterback and Super Bowl champ Doug Williams.
