PBS NewsHour Adds John Yang

He'll be a general assignment correspondent.

John Yang joins PBS NewsHour as a general assignment correspondent beginning Feb. 29.

Yang comes to NewsHour from NBC News, where he was a correspondent based in Chicago. During his time at NBC, Yang reported for a number of different shows, including NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and Today, and was a member of a reporting team that received a Peabody for special series In Plain Sight: Poverty in America.

“John has a keen eye for a great story and a deep appreciation for the issues and trends that impact our country and our world,” said PBS NewsHour ep Sara Just in an announcement.
