Patricia Wilson Joins National Journal Group

Washington-based National Journal Group announced today that veteran news professional Patricia Wilson is joining the organization as deputy editor-in-chief. She will run the day-to-day operations of the newsroom, with all managing editors reporting to her. Wilson is currently editor in charge of foreign policy and national security for Thomson Reuters.

“Patsy Wilson will be the engine that makes our unified newsroom run,” National Journal Group Editor-in-Chief Ron Fournier said in a statement. “Her experience in reporting and managing news and teaching the craft of journalism is nearly unparalleled in Washington. With Patsy at the helm, we will take our fantastic collection of talent and turn it into a digital-first newsroom team producing at the highest level every single day.”

Wilson has three decades of experience at Reuters in Washington as a general news correspondent, desk editor, White House correspondent, political correspondent, editor in charge of politics and domestic policy, and editor in charge of foreign policy and national security. She has covered eight presidential elections, four G7 summits, and three APEC summits. Wilson also has interviewed four presidents, including President Obama.

Wilson earned degrees in journalism and law from Queensland University in Australia.
