O, Henry! My what big fines you've got!

Every industry has been well-represented when it comes to fraud: Telecom has Bernie Ebbers. Energy has Ken Lay. Hell, even theater has Garth Drabinsky.

Sadly, TV lacked true fraudster street cred – until yesterday. That’s when it was announced that ex-Gemstar-TV Guide CEO Henry Yuen will have to pay $22.4 million for cooking the company’s books to defraud investors in one of the largest fines ever for individual accounting fraud.

We’d be lying if we didn’t tell you well feel a surge of pride knowing that, at last, entertainment is finally considered the equal of energy bandits and telecom schemers.
