NYT Shuffle: The Legend Continues

Correction: Clifford alerts us that she covered magazines and advertising simultaneously for the last two or so years, and did not switch beats midway through. FishbowlNY regrets the error.

Following last week’s news of a changeup at the Gray Lady’s media desk, there are a few more shifts afoot at the paper. The New York Times‘ Stephanie Clifford, who recently covered magazines, then switched over to advertising, has moved on to retail coverage.
“Wanted to introduce you all to my replacement on the ad/marketing beat at the Times, the very talented Tanzina Vega. Tanzina is officially starting in a couple of weeks, but is beginning to meet with people, consider pitches, etc.,” writes Clifford in a memo to fellow Times staffers. Vega’ Times bylines go back to 2006, and her writing has appeared on the paper’s Bucks Blog, City Room blog, and elsewhere.
