NY Times to Expand Mobile Products

The future is in your hands.

According to New York Times CEO Mark Thompson, smartphones are now the “most important” platform for the Times, so the company is looking to entice consumers with more mobile products.

Politico reports that Thompson addressed the digital future of the Times during a media conference. “We’ve got a kind of shifting view, a developing view of what our product portfolio should look like,” explained Thompson.

To that end, the Times is creating an app focused on TV and film content and another one on the Times’ Well blog.

Adding products is great for consumers, but Thompson knows it’s only good for the Times if they bring in cash.
