Nexx NRM-51 Coming Soon To Russia

Nexx Digital, a Russian consumer electronics company, recently unveiled a new 5″ eReader. The NRM-51 is based on a 5″ (800×480) LCD screen, and it has 1GB Flash storage, SD card slot, an accelerometer, broad audio and video support, but no Wifi or touchscreen.

It supports Adobe DE DRM, as well as Epub, PDF, TXT, and FB2. Video support includes more formats than I can name: WMV, FLV, RM / RMVB, MOV, AVI, MPEG 1/2/4, XVID, DIVX, H.263, H.264, MKV.

It’s currently available in Russia, with a retail of 3,679 rubles (about $ 125 USD).

You can also find this eReader in the UK, where it is being sold by Elonex as the 500EB. It’s also going to be available sometime this summer in the US from Southern Telecom under the Slick brand.

I’ve had my hands on the Elonex 500EB, and it’s a pretty good eReader. The dimensions and button placement are just right for my large male hands, and the reading experience was good. But when it comes to video, the 500EB did not have a good screen or CPU. For more details, check out my review over on The Digital Reader.
