New York Jets Beat ‘Dancing’ Finale for Weekly Ratings Superiority

As families were concluding their festive Thanksgiving meals, the New York Jets were giving their fans something else to be thankful for.

The holiday night game broadcast by the NFL Network was simulcast by WPIX. The rating, according to the Nielsen Company, is from those who watched on Channel 11. The game, which the Jets beat the Bengals, got an estimated 1.8 million WPIX viewers with a 9.2 rating.

The Dancing With The Stars two-hour finale settled for second best (1.8 million/8.9). The 75-minute Dancing performance was fourth (1.6 million/8.1) among WABC viewers.

Fox 5/WNYW also did well with football on Thanksgiving night. The Saints/Cowboys riveting matchup took its spot at number three (1.7 million/8.7) for the week ending Sunday, November 28.

WNYW grabbed hold of the fifth and sixth positions thanks for NFL action on Sunday. They combined for more than 3 million viewers.

ABC’s debut of Skating With The Stars was 20th (695,000/3.4).

HBO’s critically acclaimed Broadwalk Empire made its first appearance on the weekly list at number 30 (523,000/2.6).
