Microsoft is planning to take on Apple by releasing its line of Windows 7 slate computers sooner rather than later.
Yesterday, Steve Ballmer, the chief executive of Microsoft, talked up the coming tablets at Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference.
The Guardian UK reports, “With the iPad selling more than 3m units in the first 80 days on the market, this is a fast-growing market – and Microsoft wants a slice of it. ‘This is a terribly important area for us,’ Ballmer said.”
These tablets are likely to come in various sizes and at varying price points. In the meantime, you can hack your own tablet for $200.
