Matt McFarland Heads to CNN

CNN snags him from The Washington Post.

CNN has added Matt McFarland to the CNNTech team as an innovation writer based out of the D.C. bureau.

McFarland comes to CNN from The Washington Post, which he joined in 2007 as a news aide. Most recently, he was the editor of the tech-focused Innovations vertical.

His work at CNN will fall along similar lines, according to an email to staff from CNNTech senior editor Aimee Rawlins. “He’ll continue the excellent work he did as the editor of the Washington Post’s Innovations blog, where he wrote about new technologies like robots, hoverboards, self-driving cars and drones,” she writes.

Seth Fiegerman is also coming on board. Beginning June 29, he’ll be a Big Tech writer for CNNTech, based out of New York. He was previously a senior business reporter at Mashable.
