Marie Claire Adds Washington Columnist, Senior Editor

Pamela R. Stevens and Colleen Leahey.

Earlier this spring, in a New York Times article about the GOP reaching out to female voters through women’s magazines, Pamela R. Stevens recalled the challenges of pitching to those publications stories about Congressional Republican women. “I really had to work it, work it, work it” explained the CNN-producer-turned-House-Republican-media-strategist in connection with pieces in Elle and Good Housekeeping.

Stevens has now moved over to a different side of the magazine-pitch equation: in-house. Per an announcement today by Hearst, Stevens is joining Marie Claire as a contributing editor and will be listed on the masthead starting in December:

Stevens will provide ideas around politics, media and the culture of Washington, D.C.
