MAD Magazine: You Were Rejected, But Things Could Have Been Worse
MAD magazine apparently has an interesting form rejection letter.
MAD artist Tom Richmond has posted one of the rejection letters (recipient unknown) that the magazine is apparently sending out.
It includes the sentences: “Besides – although you’ve been rejected, things could have been a lot worse. Your material might have been ACCEPTED! Then where would you be?”
Richmond adds that when he first sent his work to MAD in the early ’90s, he got a different form rejection: “As I recall it was in the form of a checklist that had different reasons for the rejection, and it had the same sort of irreverent humor.”
