Latest Job Report Shows Decent Numbers

It’s that time of month again!

The jobs report for October was released and although pundits are saying it’ll have an impact in the election, we do know this: 171,000 new jobs were created and the unemployment rate is 7.9 percent.

As per CBS News, the report demonstrated job growth that was better than anticipated even though the unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a percentage point.

Despite rumors the report was going to be delayed courtesy of Hurricane Sandy, the show went on as it was released this morning at 8:30 a.m.

Although the Labor Department’s monthly report may impact voters at the polls, we’re pretty sure it’s one sign the economy is slowly but surely recovering.

Julia Coronado, an economist at BMP Paribas told The New York Post the number of people looking for employment “could be a sign that people are starting to see better job prospects and so should be read as another positive aspect to the report.”
