Photo Agency Seeks Katy Perry Damages

In this corner, we have Mavrix, a Los Angeles-Miami based seller of celebrity pics. In the other is Idontlikeyouinthatway.com, part of of the far-flung family of CraveOnline.com websites.

Mavrix, per a report this morning on Courthouse News, is alleging that the Crave destination illicitly grabbed some Katy Perry photos. It is seeking a whopping $3 million in damages:

“In the marketplace, celebrity photos carry tremendous value,” Mavrix says in its federal complaint. “Mavrix has licensed individual images of celebrities for over $100,000 to major publication outlets… Defendants herein have driven massive traffic to their website in part due to the presence of the sought after and searched-for celebrity images.

A look at archived Perry coverage on Idontlike is somewhat hilarious, current lawsuit notwithstanding.
