Jobs Posted Online Last Month First Increase In Six Months

In May, there were 250,000 more jobs posted than in April, an 8 percent increase to 3.3 million, ERE reports. It’s the first increase in six months—and six months ago, the “increase” was a measly 21,000 jobs.

Are things turning around? As of April, there were 4.4 unemployed workers for every job opening, so we’re not out of the woods yet.

The Conference Board, which tracks unemployment and job data, predicts that the BLS’s monthly report—to be released Friday—will show 565,000 jobs lost last month, which would be slightly higher than the 539,000
