Is Murdoch Considering Selling Weekly Standard to Washington Examiner Owner?
The LA Times reports Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. could be close to selling the conservative magazine the Weekly Standard to “media mogul” Philip Anschutz, citing “people familiar with the situation.” Anschutz’s Clarity Media Group owns the Washington Examiner.
The Denver Business Journal– where Clarity Media Group is based- contacted Anschutz for comment, but all they got from a spokesman was, “We don’t comment on speculation.”
