Icahn giving up or stepping up? NYT and WSJ agree to disagree

Having watched a foaming-at-the-mouth Carl Icahn tap Frank Biondi Jr. (the former CEO of both Viacom and Universal Studios) to help him draw and quarter Time Warner, we were all excited to see this proxy catfight play out. Especially with Carl’s crazy “Haitian death squad” rhetoric last week.

Alas, it was not to be. The Wall Street Journal‘s online edition (which we don’t usually link to ’cause those avaricious bastards have the temerity to charge dough for their scoops) announced today that Icahn was “giving up” his proxy fight.
