Paul Chan, Charline von Heyl Among Artists Shortlisted for 2014 Hugo Boss Prize

Five artists have received a swell Christmas present [cut to photo of Richard Armstrong in a Santa suit]: a spot on the shortlist for the Hugo Boss Prize. Administered by the Guggenheim Foundation, the $100,000 prize is awarded every other year to an artist who has made an important contribution to contemporary art. Past winners include Danh Vo, Emily Jacir, Matthew Barney, and Pierre Huyghe. The finalists for the prize’s tenth incarnation are Paul Chan, Sheela Gowda, Camille Henrot, Hassan Khan, and Charline von Heyl.
