Hollywood Film Festival Recruits Slamdance, AFI Vet

For years, the fall event has been synonymous with the stewardship of founder Carlos de Abreu. But by the time the 17th annual edition rolls around in late October, it will also bear the imprint of new executive director Jon Fitzgerald. The co-founder of Slamdance is bringing along with him CineCause, a philanthropic platform he launched last year to try and connect social-issues films with matching charities.
