Hearst Names Jill Herzig Editor In Chief Of Redbook

Hearst president Cathie Black announced today that Jill Herzig will step up as Redbook‘s new editor in chief. Herzig was most recently the executive editor of Glamour. She takes the spot vacated by former EIC Stacy Morrison, who stepped down due to family illness.

Herzig was named as being one of two contenders for the role, along with current Redbook Alison Brower, who acted as Morrison’s second in command at a time when Redbook witnessed a drop in circulation.

Herzig celebrated the announcement by describing how the magazine will go forth to appeal to its ideal reader:

The Redbook reader may be the busiest woman on the planet – she’s pouring energy into her marriage and kids, her home and career, her health and her looks.
