Hearst Launches “Hearst Innovation” To Help Connect Staff And Create New Ideas

Today, Hearst launched Hearst Innovation, a “company-wide program designed to be a catalyst for business growth, creativity and communication throughout the Corporation.”

The program has three basic goals: First, it hopes to create new businesses by opening up a dialogue with Hearst employees and encouraging them to discuss their ideas. Professional recognition and financial rewards will be given to employees whose ideas are chosen for further development. Second, Hearst hopes to increase collaboration by fostering an engaging work environment across all levels. And, finally, the company hopes to encourage a “culture of innovation” to inspire creativity among all its staffers.

Hearst vice chairman and CEO Frank A. Bennack, Jr. discusses the way in which the program will help foster creativity and innovation:

Hearst has a history of investing in new ideas and innovative ways of doing business. This important program creates a pathway for us to discover, develop and reward great new business ideas from the best source available — our own employees — while supporting a company culture of creativity and collaboration.

Hearst will promote participation in the program though its company-wide online community, which will provide a platform from discussions relating to the program’s goals.
