Hard Work Pays Off in the End for New Spokeswoman Jen Selter


In this week’s most important non-Super Bowl story that we somehow missed, Instagram “belfie” phenom Jen Selter signed an endorsement deal before the ink even dried on her agency contract.

Page Six broke the news that the 20-year-old New York workout fanatic, whose previous job description seems to have been “gym rat”, signed with The Legacy Agency, known for managing big-name athletes, broadcasters and other sports personalities.

The entire Internet proceeded to go butt-pun crazy, of course; The New York Post wins as usual with “Jen Selter’s butt is huge right now.

This week Cirrus fitness announced that she would be its new spokeswoman; Cosmo sums it all up for readers with this SEO-friendly header:

Cosmo calls it her “first” endorsement deal, but earlier this month our friends over at the always-excellent AdRants noted that she’d already signed with N20 Water and Game Plan Nutrition while receiving offers from many more including Nike and Lululemon.

In the press release, Cirrus CEO Jay Sapovits says “I think of Jen as a professional athlete, the No. 1 pick, her sport just happens to be fitness.”

You meant to say “fitness model”, right? Most importantly, what does her mom think? Again via AdRants:

“I’m very proud of her because this is a girl who didn’t want to go to college and she was able to build up this social media in such a way that she has become famous and she is an inspiration and motivation for so many people.”

Translation: move out of the house and get a real job, because this woman is the anomaly to end all anomalies.

In hindsight, we might regret not making a Sir-Mix-a-Lot reference here. But(t) for now we’re all punned out.
