Guardian US Boosts Tech Reporter Ranks

A trio plucked from the Wall Street Journal, SF Weekly and California Sunday magazine.

NellieBowlesTwitterPicA trio of folks are set to join The Guardian’s west coast bureau in San Francisco. All will work as technology reporters. Here’s the announcement:

Nellie Bowles (pictured) has most recently been a contributing writer to The California Sunday magazine as well as working on a book for Hachette and TV show based on one of her stories for 20th Century Fox. She previously covered the tech world for Re/code and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Julia Carrie Wong joins from SF Weekly, where she is currently a news and politics staff writer. She previously worked as a freelance reporter, contributing articles on San Francisco Bay Area politics and the tech industry for Salon, The New Yorker, USA Today and others.

Danny Yadron joins from the Wall Street Journal, where he is a cybersecurity reporter based in San Francisco. Previously he was WSJ’s technology policy and political reporter in Washington D.C., and has also written for the Buffalo News and the Austin American-Statesman.

They are set to work alongside Guardian US west coast bureau chief Paul Lewis, west coast editor Merope Mills, head of technology, west coast Jemima Kiss and news editor Judy Tong. Congrats.
