Google Shopping Express Now Offers Same Day Delivery Service in Washington

Craving a box of Annie’s mac and cheese from Giant? How about 1,000 Heinz ketchup packets from Costco? Need diapers from Babies R Us? Or even a new Fender from Guitar Center?

Well Google now has that covered too.

The Washington Post’s Jonathan O’Connell writes about Google Shopping Express, the tech giant’s new same day delivery service that launched in DC on Tuesday. Online shoppers now have access to the store shelves of nine local retailers including Giant Food, Costco, Walgreens, Sports Authority, Staples, Babies “R” Us, Barnes & Noble, L’Occitane, and Guitar Center.

“The expansion puts Google more squarely in competition with Amazon, which has been expanding same-day delivery and now has a grocery service, Amazon Fresh, that is available in the Bay Area, Los Angeles and Seattle areas,” writes O’Connell.
