Searches and search suggestions are optimized for local results with My Location turned on.
The Google Mobile App itself pops up in just a small portion at the top of the screen. This is unlike almost all other apps which own the screen. You can see in the screenshot above that the Office Mobile apps list is “under” the small Google Mobile App window.
