Good Pitch. Really Wrong Audience.

This goes in the category of ‘Good Tip, but wasted on a DC political reporter.’ A Capitol Hill reporter received this pitch Monday morning from “STUNTMANpr,” starting the week off on a perplexing, all caps note.

Subject line: IS Will SMITH MOVING to BROOKLYN?!?!

The reporter remarked to FishbowlDC: “Never heard of him and this PR agency specializes in “stunts” and “hoaxes”, which is all the more irksome because this isn’t a tip, it’s a shi–y real estate ad.” The reporter is annoyed by the growing “chumminess” of pitches from PR people who are perfect strangers.

In this one, “Jordan” writes: “Hi, Thought you might find this amusing… I’ve included a few images along with a fax receipt confirming the offer was submitted to John Lassiter, Will Smith’s long time production partner/ manager. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need additional information and I look forward to hearing your thoughts! Best, Jordan”

Could Will Smith be moving to Clinton Hill?

Sources say he’ll definitely be holing up in the area for a few months: Pre-production is underway on Men In Black 3, which is filming in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn’s own Steiner Studios. And Will Smith has already been offered the key to the borough.

One of the area’s new luxury rentals has offered Smith a penthouse pied-à-terre. The new 75 Grand Avenue building, located in the heart of historic Clinton Hill, offers digs fit for an A-lister.

The top-floor 2,300-square-foot duplex that’s up for grabs, adjacent to the new Pratt Institute campus, boasts loft-style 16-foot ceilings and mezzanines, full-aperture windows, CaesarStone countertops, Brazilian “Ipe” walnut flooring, European custom cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances by Liebherr, Sub-zero and Fulgor.

The developer has even offer to provide him with the best the neighborhood has to offer during his stay: en-suite meals delivered by the nearby Choice Market and weekly between-takes chocolate-massage treatments from Clinton Hill’s Body By Brooklyn.
Let me know if you’d like to chat with the developer.
