Friday Layoffs at Newsday, Paper to Cut 5% of Workforce

Normally news that Newsday plans to layoff 100 people or 5% of it work force would send everyone into a Friday afternoon flurry. But coming at the end of the sort of week the media and publishing world has just experienced (not to mention the new unemployment numbers for the country) it is terrible but also somewhat par for the course.
