Here’s some breaking news from our sister pub FishbowlNY. ESPN: The Magazine will move offices from New York to Bristol, Connecticut.
According to the press release, the move will happen once the New York headquarters’s lease ends in the fall 2011. Apparently, the move did not come as a shock to the employees. Here’s what one unidentified employee said to FishbowlNY:
“The writing’s been on the wall for months. The bosses have been very upfront about the possibility of a move, and gave us periodic updates that made it seem increasingly likely. So when they called a meeting today (replete with instructions for out-of-office staffers to call in) and told us for the first time that it was definitely happening, no one was surprised.”
It sounds like some of the staffers won’t make the move and management will give severances to those who stay on staff until the official transition occurs.
