Employee Compensation Stabilizes

Private employers spent an average of $27.42 per hour on employee compensation in December, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported recently; that figure hasn’t moved since June 2009.

That doesn’t mean that the average wage is nearly $30 an hour—wages averaged $19.41 an hour and benefits accounted for the other $8.

Hopefully this is a sign of stabilization or even, dare we say it, growth.
