Emmis Publishing Acquisition In Jeopardy

Back in May, we reported that Emmis Publishing, which is responsible for a number of regional titles, was restructuring its upper tier of management. Then, later that month, we told you that the company was planning to go private after its board of directors approved an agreement to merge the company with JS Acquisition, owned by Emmis Corp chairman and CEO Jeff Smulyan.

Now it appears that the talks between Smulyan and the company’s investors have stalled to the point where it appears doubtful that the deal with actually go through.
